The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) connects participants with registered providers, to provide participants with the support they need.
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to eligible individuals living with a disability, that goes towards increasing their quality of life and maintaining their independence. NDIS funding can also be used to help individuals spend more time with their loved ones, build their capacity to open up employment and/or volunteering opportunities and give them access to services and activities within their community.
Community activities and services includes medical practitioners, sporting and support groups, libraries, schools and information about what is covered under the NDIS in varying states and territories.
Over 500,000 Australians living with a disability are supported by the NDIS to access the services they so dearly need.
Why does the NDIS exist?
The NDIS exists to connect Australians living with a disability to the care and support services they need. These services range from different life needs whether it be help with personal tasks within the individuals home, assistance with tasks on a daily basis, assistance with major life changes and managing life’s various challenges and obstacles to supporting individuals to partake in social and community activities.
NDIS funding empowers individuals living with a disability to get the help and support they need so that they can live a fulfilling, meaningful life and remain in control of the decisions being made about their care.
Am I eligible for the NDIS?
To be eligible for the NDIS, there are a few requirements you must meet. You will be asked questions about your age, your residency, and your disability requirements to determine your eligibility.
